Golden Triangle RC&D Urban Agriculture Program

What is Urban Agriculture?

Urban agriculture allows for the development of a variety of environmental, economic, and social benefits to the surrounding communities. Urban farming can reduce transportation costs, help reduce runoff associated with heavy rainfall, and lead to better air quality.

Urban farming helps people to learn new farming skills that go beyond land growing to beekeeping, composting, alternative crop farming, and many other sustainability practices.

Urban Ag Education &Outreach:

Golden Triangle offers outreach and education for all ages. Topics include gardening, farming, soil, composting, pollinators, farm-to-table cooking, and more.

Farm-to-School programs bring food and farming education into the classroom. Golden Triangle staff works with the teachers to achieve the goals of the lesson plan and meet the needs of the students.
